Here is a list of all the biological research stations in Costa Rica. We have kept the definition quite open. It includes organization with teaching or research activities and organizations that offer facilities to external researchers (from Costa Rica or abroad). Even if a hotel or other touristic facility presents itself as a location for biological field research then it is included.
We found some of the stations, also called field stations or biological stations, during our preparations for the sabbatical. Others we found during our stay, or simply through searching on the internet. As part of the latter we used the website of the Organization of Biological Field Stations.
